Plan for new classrooms at West Walton secondary school
Plans to build new classrooms, and expand computer facilities, at a West Norfolk secondary school have been outlined.
Permission is being sought for building extensions at the Marshland High School in West Walton.
The application, which has been submitted by the school's sponsor, the West Norfolk Academies Trust, would allow for two new classrooms for language teaching.
There would also be an extension of existing IT facilities.
Documents published as part of the application said: "The extension to the school in the location proposed provides the opportunity to improve existing internal circulation areas and increase the size of the existing ICT suites, alongside the much-needed additional class bases for language.
"The two proposed extension elements do not project beyond the southernmost existing school building line, nor does the proposal require the use of existing external playing field provisions.
"As such, it is considered the layout of the proposal is acceptable."
A number of current parking spaces on the School Road site would be relocated to make way for the new development.
West Norfolk Council officials have indicated they aim to reach a decision on the application by the end of next month.
