Police appeal to trace driver who 'fled A47 crash scene'
Police have appealed for help to trace a driver who reportedly fled the scene of a crash on the A47 yesterday, in which two people were seriously hurt.
A woman and child were taken to hospital following the incident, which happened near the Elme Hall roundabout, at around 1pm on Wednesday.
A silver Nissan Primera and a gold Volvo, which was towing a caravan, were involved in the crash.
Norfolk Police have this afternoon issued an appeal to find the driver of the Primera, whom they say left his vehicle at the scene before making off over fields towards Wisbech.
The man is described as tall, of slim build, in his late 30s to early 40s.
He had dark hair and was wearing a tracksuit. Officers believe he may also have been injured in the crash.
Anyone who has recognises the description or who has information or dashcam footage of the crash, is asked to contact PC Ben Hawkins, via the non-emergency 101 number.
