Two suspects tracked down by police dog arrested for criminal damage, failing to stop and theft of quad bike in Wiggenhall St Germans

Police dog Zorro had a heroic weekend when he tracked down two suspects who were caught driving off-road vehicles illegally.

Police were called to Stow Road in St Germans on Saturday afternoon to reports of a quad bike and an off-road motorbike driving through a field.

The quad did not stop when officers arrived, but they found it a short time later abandoned on Fitton Road.

This was where Zorro stepped up and tracked down the two suspects. The pair were both arrested for criminal damage to the field, failing to stop and theft of the motor vehicle.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for the police said: “This is where we need your help – we are pretty sure the quad belongs to someone other than the rider.

“The quad is a grey TGB Blade and we do not have a record of it being stolen but if you think it is yours can you get in touch.”

Police are urging anyone with any information to get in contact by calling them on 101 quoting crime reference 36/19724/25.
