Residents living near the level crossing had been informed by Network Rail that the closure was necessary to enable engineering trains to deliver materials to the site.

Mini-buses will again take pedestrians from one side of the crossing to the other.

Great Northern has said bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time, unless fully folded.

The rail service also states those travelling should have a valid train ticket before getting on the bus.
