Residents left with cloudy water after burst water main cut off supplies in West Norfolk
West Norfolk villagers were left without running water over the weekend due to a burst water main cutting off supplies to the area.
Residents in Stow Bridge, South Runcton and surrounding area continue to have cloudy and discoloured water after Anglian Water completed the repair on Sunday evening.
The interruption to supply was first reported on Saturday with residents finding out in the morning as they woke up. Anglian Water distributed bottled water as a result of the disruption.
John Evans, who lives in Stow Bridge said: "The water came back on at 7pm yesterday (Sunday). We'd had a revised completion time of 10pm so that was definitely a job well done. They were only an hour past the previous estimate.
"Apparently, the problem was a burst 18 inch main and it was a big job. The water this morning (Monday) is very cloudy, it looks like light sediment because whatever it is soon settles. It is probably not harmful but I'm sticking to bottled water for drinking and cooking until it clears."
The Anglian Water website thanks customers for their patience and instructs residents to call 03457 145145 if there are any continual issues with low pressure or no water.
