A10 reopens at Downham Market at junction with A1122 and motorcyclist taken to hospital after crashing into roundabout

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after crashing into a roundabout in Downham this morning.

Police were called to the A1122 Bexwell Road at the junction with the A10 at about 11am after reports of the collision on the roundabout at the Denver end of the A10.

A police spokeswoman had asked motorists to avoid the area while officers dealt with the incident, but the road had reopened as of 12.40pm.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "An ambulance, a senior paramedic, and the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene.

"One patient was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment."

The AA route planner suggested there was queuing traffic in the area during the road closure.
