Road safety appeal as emergency services attend accident near Downham Market
Police have issued a safety warning as emergency services are attending many accidents over the festive period-including one near Downham this afternoon.
A social media post by King's Lynn Police says: "Please be careful on the roads, 2020 has taken too many loved ones as it is."
The post comes after there has been a two-vehicle accident in Barroway Drove involving a Peugeot and a Toyota.
A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said the two female drivers were taken to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital for assessment with what is reported to be minor injuries.
The ambulance service was called at 1.30pm with two ambulances attending the scene.
Fire crews from Downham and South Lynn also attended the collision on Lady Drove after being called just after 1.30pm.
The scene was made safe and vehicle occupants were released before the firefighters started leaving from 2.05pm.
The road was temporarily blocked, and reopened just after 3pm.
