Roald Dahl day and new reading bus celebrated at Upwell Academy
Staff and pupils at Upwell Academy had a 'Swashboggling' time when they celebrated Roald Dahl day, combining it with the opening of their new reading bus.
The bright red double decker bus offers a space for the young readers to dress up as their favourite characters and to read their most-loved books by popular children's authors such as Dahl.
Principal Haidee Norman and teaching staff member Anna Frammingham got into the spirit of the day, dressing up as Dahl's characters from The Witches and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The winners of the bus stop poster design were announced and some young pupils wore costumes from well known books such as Alice in Wonderland, with pupils dressed as a fox, elephant and witches.
