Santa’s Sleigh draws the charity cash after visiting stores in King’s Lynn
Santa’s Musical Sleigh visited the superstores in Lynn to bring festive cheer in a wet and cold December and raised over £2,500 for charity.
Organised by Trinity Rotary Club, the Rotarians became Santa’s Elves and helped by collecting donations and giving out chocolates.
The sleigh visited the major stores in and around Lynn. The organiser, Ernie Foreman, said: “The great sum of over £2,600 has been donated. It was great to be out again and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
“We thank Asda at South Wootton, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and Tesco at Hardwick for allowing us to have Santa’s Sleigh at their stores. We are grateful for their help and their donations”.
John Hodson, Trinity president, added: “Families and shoppers enjoyed the sleigh. Although the weather was not kind, still people’s generosity is amazing. People can be assured that we will put this money to good use as none is spent on overheads
“This year we will continue helping local charities such as the Purfleet Trust, and Night Shelter for the homeless and the food bank. Last year we donated to the local branch of the Samaritans and West Norfolk Befriending to name only a few.
“Ongoing projects such as Dictionaries 4 Life, Schools Make Music, and Crucial Crew, all for schoolchildren, will continue to make a difference. The money donated means we can do these. Thanks to everybody who helped.”
