First Docking Scout donates essential items to Baby Basics West Norfolk

A scout group has been collecting things for an organisation that helps provide essential items to vulnerable mothers with newborns.

First Docking (Hare’s Own) Scout Group was visited on Thursday by Maggie from Baby Basics West Norfolk, where she gave a talk about the bundles that they make up for those who need them and brought a basket and its contents to show them.

The Cubs had been learning about poverty for their Global Issues badge, which led to discussing local charities that help people.

Baby Basics West Norfolk, of Dersingham, helps families with newborn babies, providing them with what they need.

Suzanne Rix, group lead volunteer and Cub lead volunteer, said: “The Cubs, Beavers and Scouts in the group had been busy collecting, everyone was so generous and we have managed to donate lots of lovely items.”
