Snow blankets West Norfolk

Snow came to West Norfolk this morning leaving the area covered with several centimetres of the white stuff.

The snow had been predicted with an amber warning (the second highest of severity) issued last night by the Met Office for most of Norfolk.

It brought the inevitable problems on the road with the Fakenham area seeming to be among the more affected.

The A1065 was reported as blocked in the Fakenham area by snow and the Lynn Road between Litcham to Gayton also having problems.

Further afield there were problems in the Watton area and the Welney Wash Road in West Norfolk remains closed due to flooding.

Lynn News photographer Paul Marsh was out early to capture pictures of villages looking pretty as a picture in the snow.

Temperatures were a chilly 1C this morning but once the wintry rain and snow finally stops at lunchtime it is expected to warm up, reaching a balmy 5C by this evening.

Tomorrow will be much better at 5C for most of the day and sunshine so enjoy the snow while you can and send us in your photographs of sledging/snowmen/snowball fun to pictures@lynnnews.co.uk
