Residents from Downham Market's Grange care home take part in Easter cake competition




Residents from a care home in Downham were busy baking ahead of the Easter weekend as part of a nationwide competition.

Esther Yabbacombe, May Howard and Kevin Trudgill, who are all residents from Downham Grange earned themselves second place for their spring cake.

They were competing against Kingsley Healthcare’s 33 other care homes from around the country.

Esther carefully selected the ingredients while May and Kevin helped with the stirring of the mix and icing.

Chef Lyn Levett-Harbot brought her professional skills to bear in finishing off a very spring-like cake, complete with decorative rabbits and chicks.

Hospitality manager Keith Barnes, said: “We love to get our residents involved in everything we do in the home.
