Necton teenage Lewis Godier in King’s Lynn court after stealing crates of beer from Asda
A 19-year-old landed himself in court after stealing two crates of beer from a petrol station shop.
Lewis Godier, of Honeypot Close in Necton, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he admitted shoplifting from Asda.
Prosecutor Jackie Hamlon told the court that the offence took place on August 14 last year at the Asda petrol station in Necton.
Godier was seen on CCTV taking the two crates of Stella and leaving the store without paying.
In mitigation, Andrew Cogan told the court that Godier has ADHD and autism.
Mr Cogan said: “I’m not sure why he felt the need to steal. He had consumed both crates; he has no option but to plead guilty.
“There is research done that young men with this disorder mature much slower than females.”
Godier was ordered to pay £20 in compensation to Asda, as well as a £20 fine and court costs of £40.
