Hunstanton resident Tammy Edmunds raises further concerns about nightmare neighbour as issues escalate further

A Hunstanton resident has said it is an “absolute disgrace” that nothing is being done about a nightmare neighbour whose rubbish attracts rats to the area.

Hunstanton resident Tammy Edmunds returned to one of Hunstanton Town Council’s full meetings once again following the issues she has been having with a nearby neighbour.

Ms Edmunds has been facing an “untidy outlook” for more than five years and has been left frustrated with West Norfolk Council as the issue has still not been resolved.

She said: “It has escalated even further with the arrival of bedroom furniture at the front of the property. Nobody is checking or dealing with it.

“Food is left out, there are rats, it’s an absolute disgrace”.

Hunstanton mayor Michael Ruston informed other councillors at the meeting that he had paid a visit to the road Ms Edmunds lives on that day to take some photos.

He said he believed the issue would have been resolved if the behaviour of the neighbour was happening in the town centre near businesses.

He said: “I will follow up with these photographs to West Norfolk Council leader Alistair Beales and Stuart Ashworth, head of planning.

“This is beyond me, I will follow up on this and let you know what responses I get.”

Ms Edmunds added: “You can’t go out in your own front garden. Somebody has got to be responsible for this.”

She has previously complained about loud noise at night coming from the woman that lives at the property and alleged that she drives an untaxed and uninsured car.
