A transfer of a piece of land no bigger than a telephone box has been completed in a market town.
Swaffham clerk Richard Bishop said this transfer to the town council will help to control and register The Shambles footpaths in the town.
“The long-running joke was that The Shambles lived up to its name,” Mr Bishop said of the transfer.
Mr Bishop added that there are four separate pieces of land for The Shambles in Swaffham town centre with this small piece of land being located near the car park.
The Shambles have previously been resurfaced costing thousands of pounds.
