Hunstanton man Lee Fenn dies aged 37 after battle with heart condition

A man who insisted that his sister must carry on with her wedding despite him being critically ill has died.

Lee Fenn, 37, from Hunstanton, had a serious heart condition which left him fighting for his life in Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

His sister, Keleigh Rowell confirmed that Lee died on Sunday, October 15 at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and said she was told there was nothing more that doctors could do.

As we previously reported in the Lynn News, Lee had insisted Keleigh went ahead with her wedding, getting married to her now husband Paul.

The family were initially told at the time that Lee had just 48 hours to live.

But Keleigh gave her big brother a special surprise by visiting him in her wedding dress the following day.

She filmed the heartwarming moment and posted it on the social media platform TikTok – which has been viewed 3.4million times.

Prior to Lee’s death, Keleigh posted another video showing a special moment where Lee is saying goodbye to his beloved dog, Winston.

The video went viral and gained 800,000 views and 77,000 likes.

Last Saturday Lee and his wife Lisa would have been celebrating their 17th wedding anniversary.

Before his death, Lee asked Keleigh to order an anniversary present on his behalf, a teddy bear with a voice recording of Lee saying: “I love you baby, that’s just the way it is.”

Keleigh said: “The bear arrived the day after his death, I’m giving it to Lisa but for a very different reason now, for comfort now he’s gone.”

Lee’s funeral will be held on November 1 at Mintlyn Crematorium at 2.30pm.

This will be followed by a wake at Hunstanton’s Lodge Hotel at 3.30pm.

Before his death, Lee requested that everyone attending his funeral should wear pink as it would be “funny”.

Instead of flowers donations will be collected for CCU Addenbrooke’s, the British Heart Foundation, or Cardiomyopathy UK.

A JustGiving page set up after Lee was admitted to hospital remains open now to help Lisa with everyday costs.
