Businesses in Downham Market and Southery broken into as police urge people in rural areas to be vigilant




Two West Norfolk businesses were broken into last night, prompting police to remind people in rural areas to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

A unit on an industrial estate in Downham was targeted at 10pm last night. It is not yet known if anything was taken.

Half an hour later, officers were called to a business on Campsey Road in Southery which was also broken into and a piece of plant machinery was taken.

If anyone saw anything or has any information, contact police, quoting crime reference 36/89191/24 online or by ringing 101.

Officers have urged anybody in rural areas to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, especially at night, and call 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
