Henry's of Hunstanton and Thornham-based Eric's Fish and Chips make final five of National Fish and Chip Awards 2023




Two West Norfolk chippies have made the final five in the race to be crowned the best in the country.

Last week, five fish and chip shops from around the UK were shortlisted for the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category.

Henry’s of Hunstanton made the cut, joining Thornham-based Eric’s Fish and Chips.

The top five, featuring others from Nottingham, Northern Ireland and Gloucestershire, were whittled down following a top ten announcement in October.

They have been chosen based on their “expert industry knowledge and outstanding customer service”, alongside strong environmental standards and an ability to observe “sustainability best practice”.

The other restaurants shortlisted are:

  • The Cod’s Scallops, West Bridgford
  • Fish City, Belfast
  • Malt and Anchor, Cirencester

The winner will be announced at The National Fish & Chip Awards, hosted by the The National Federation of Fish Friers.

The ceremony will take place on February 28 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.
