Two injured in A47 crash causing delays of at least 30 minutes




The A47 is currently closed in both directions near Wisbech due to a three-vehicle road collision this afternoon which has left two people seriously injured.

Emergency services were called shortly before 1pm to the collision near the Elm roundabout.

And Highways England has said delays of at least 30 minutes covering several miles of road are likely.

Cambridgeshire Police are on the scene as well as Norfolk Police and have put a diversion in place.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We do have two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle on the scene of a road traffic accident involving several vehicles near the Elm roundabout in Wisbech.

"It does appear that at least two people have been injured. We cannot comment further at this stage.”

For those travelling eastbound, they will be re-directed to the A17 roundabout through Sutton Bridge before rejoining the A47 at the Pullover roundabout.

And those travelling westbound will be re-directed along the A10, A1122, A1101 before rejoining the A47 at Wisbech.
