The death of a man whose body was found in a ditch on the edge of Lynn earlier today is not believed to be suspicious, police have said.

Officers were called to Saddlebow Road at around 12.45pm today following reports of the discovery.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said a short time ago that the body was that of a man in his 40s. His death is currently being treated as unexplained, but is not thought to be suspicious.

However, the case has been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) because of previous police contact. The force say that is a standard procedure.

The road is currently closed at the Maple Road junction into the industrial estate and people are being asked to avoid the area while inquiries continue.
