Snettisham Watermill is on the market for more than £300,000
A beautiful working mill sitting beside its own pond has been put up for sale along the coast.
The Snettisham Watermill, located on Old Coal Yard, is steeped in history having been built by villagers in 1800 when bread was scarce.
The small mill has two sets of stones – one for flour to make bread, and another for grinding corn for animal feed.
The mill was lovingly restored in 1980s and sits on the River Ingol.
The mill, which still has its wheel intact, would take very little re-commissioning, according to The Norfolk Agents, which is selling the property.
The cart hovel and granary have been converted into a home/holiday let.
Inside the upside-down property, there is an open-plan living area with views of a lake and river on the first floor.
This space has wooden furnishings, a beamed ceiling, and a Juliet balcony.
On the ground floor is a family shower room and three bedrooms – a double with an en-suite shower room and two singles.
Outside is a garden with a patio, a lawn area, and an ancient wooded area.
The mill is on the market now for £370,000 with The Norfolk Agents.
