Watlington Primary School gather outside 'for the first time in months' for 40th birthday celebration

Watlington Primary pupils gathered in the sun last week to celebrate the 40th birthday of their school.

It was the first time in nearly 18 months that the school had gathered together in person.

Children baked cakes to celebrate the day as well as sketching the school building, exploring the history of the school through the old school log books and prepared a leaflet for new parents.

Other classes took themselves back to 1981; learning about the fashion, the music and the dancing that went on in that time.

The smallest children made “40” with their handprints and wrote down what they loved about their school.
