West Norfolk pub scoops prestigious award
A west Norfolk pub has scooped a prestigious award as a result of its dedication to serving up delicious home-made dishes.
The Angel at Watlington, near Downham, has picked up a LUX Life awards for its dedication to using local and home-made produce in its menu.
Their prestigious Restaurant and Bar Awards recognise businesses that continue to demonstrate high levels of culinary excellence and honour those who bring new and innovative products to the table.
Commenting on the success of the award winners, awards co-ordinator Edward Faulkner said: “It is with great pride that I offer my congratulations to all of my deserving winners and wish them the very best as we move forward through 2020 and beyond.”
Angel landlady Emily Phipps said: "It's absolutely brilliant to have won this award. It is also lovely to receive recognition for everything we've accomplished."
To go alongside this since the start of the COVID outbreak The Angel has been through a dramatic transition with a full refurbishment both inside and out .
This includes the addition of a deli serving fresh home-made savoury and sweet treats as well as cured and fresh meats, cheeses and a range of chutneys and preserves.
They also have some home and gift ware for you to treat yourself with in these testing times.
The Deli is open between 10am and 6pm, seven days a week with plans to expand these hours over the coming weeks.
