Feltwell road to be closed to through traffic
A West Norfolk village road will be closed for six days for essential resurfacing work.
The High Street in Feltwell will be closed to through traffic from Sunday, January 3 for the works next to the junction from Long Lane.
Vehicular access to properties within the closure will be maintained from one direction at all times, and special signs will be in place indicating businesses remain open. Pedestrian access will also be maintained at all times.
The scheme is expected to take six days to complete, weather permitting, but the county council has stated it will try to reduce the number of days if possible.
The usual one-way system on Hill Street and Short Beck will be temporarily suspended to allow traffic to continue to access High Street while the resurfacing work is taking place, and there will be gatemen at key points to manage traffic and assist where possible.
A fully signed official diversion route will be in place for through traffic.
Norfolk County Council has thanked people for their patience in advance while this essential road surface improvement work is carried out.
The work, which is expected to cost £98,750, will be carried out by the county council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and contractors.
The road closure extents are:
- From Bell Street to the junction between Long Lane onto High Street.
- From the junction from Lime Kiln Lane onto High Street to the junction from Lime Kiln Lane onto Short Lane and Paynes Lane.
