Hunstanton RNLI rescue woman and dogs stranded by tide at Thornham

A woman in her 70s and her three dogs were rescued by a life boat crew after being cut off by the tide at Thornham as dusk fell.

Volunteers from Hunstanton RNLI were alerted around 4.15pm on Friday. The Spirit of West Norfolk was launched on a high tide with four crew on board.

They quickly made their way east along the coast to Thornham Harbour, around five miles away. On arrival, they found the 71-year-old woman and her pets and they were brought safely ashore at Thornham Harbour where they were handed over to HM Coastguard.
