Worzals Farm Shop in Walton Highway launches new doorstep delivery service in response to COVID-19
Worzals Farm Shop in Walton Highway has launched a new doorstep delivery service making it easier for people to get their essential shopping across Fenland and West Norfolk.
The Farm Shop has been operating a popular no-contact ‘Call and Collect’ service since the beginning of lockdown and the next step was to move the shop online and offer home deliveries to create an easier, safer shopping experience for customers.
After investing in a refrigerated vehicle, Worzals is now delivering fresh, frozen and dry goods to customers in a wide variety of locations including Lynn, Downham, Heacham, Hunstanton, Wisbech, March, Ely and surrounding villages.
The award-winning shop has over 500 product lines available and stocks essentials such as milk, eggs, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables as well as family butchery packs. They also stock a wide range of household items such as dishwasher tablets, toilet tissue and cleaning products.
When out on delivery, shopping is dropped at the doorstep and the delivery person will ring or knock on the door. They will then step back the recommended two metres from the door enabling the customer to safely take delivery of their shopping. This ensures that the delivery process is completely contactless.
Business owner Joe Curson said: “Our customers have shown us great support over the years and we want to help them as much as possible, during this crisis. We have our regulars who visit us all from all over Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire, many of whom are vulnerable and unable to access supermarket home delivery services.
"With them in mind, we have launched ‘Worzals Delivered’. The positive response from our customers has been overwhelming and we are so grateful to be in a position where we can remain open and continue to serve the local community when they need us most.”
