WWI exhibition to open at Gaywood church
A new exhibition is opening at St Faith’s Church in Gaywood to mark the centenary of the First Wold War.
With research assistance from the Imperial War Museums and financial support from Norfolk Council Council funding, St Faith’s will “honor all the brave soldiers who will never be forgotten”.
In addition to the illustrative material there will be a display of medals, documents and other artefacts from the era.
Peace symbols created by Gaywood pupils will also be on display.
A small team of volunteers lead by St Faith’s Team Vicar, the Rev Karlene Kerr, has put together the exhibition which runs until Saturday, November 10. This will feature war poems, bible readings, news articles on the conflict.
Rev Kerr said: “We will also give thanks for peace and to those who returned.”
The exhibition is to open weekdays from 9am to 12pm, excluding Tuesdays.
