Newly-crowned champion Lambert set for triumphant return to King's Lynn

Newly-crowned British Champion Robert Lambert will make a triumphant return to King’s Lynn on Monday – with trophy in hand.

Lambert is in the form of his short career and romped to glory in the British Final in front of thousands of fans at Belle Vue and on live TV.

Now King’s Lynn are planning a special welcome home when the Tru Plant Stars face Rye House in their next Premiership clash.

Fans will have the chance to have their photograph with Lambert and his trophy between 7-7.15 ahead of the action – and there will be a limited edition collectable Robert Lambert souvenir programme on sale on entry to the stadium.

Containing 40 pages of brilliant colour photographs and features from the sport’s leading writers, it’s available for just £3.

Lambert himself is excited by the prospect.

“When I was at Poole on Wednesday they gave me a great reception and I’d like to thank the Poole management for organising that,” he said.

“I can’t wait to get back to King’s Lynn on Monday in front of the home fans and I hope everyone comes along and has a great night.”

Meanwhile the club have also made provision for those who want to see England’s opening World Cup game at the same time.

They have confirmed the game will be shown in the club function room so fans can pop in and out and enjoy both the speedway and football.

“It’s a big meeting for us,” said boss Dale Allitt.

“We were disappointed at Poole on Wednesday but we were a little battered and bruised and I expect us to be firing on all cylinders on Monday.

“Rye House pushed Swindon hard so we know we’ve got a tough meeting on our hands.”
