British title glory for Lynn's Alan

Fresh from the European Championships, in Sarrians, France, where Alan Hill brought back European title number seven in 45-49 cruiser and number five in the 35+, the Hill family travelled to Telford for rounds seven and eight of the British BMX series.

On the Saturday, Alan won 45-49 cruiser after a very tight race to wrap up the British title, before going on to taste success in the veterans’ section.

Kyle, 14, had a good day in 15/16 cruiser, winning all his motos and semi-final before claiming second in the final.

Jared, 9, enjoyed some good results and, although he missed out on a place in the final, he managed to make up for it with a win in the B final in his next outing.

On the Sunday, Jared got off to a better start with first, second and first places in his motos to secure a place in the 10s A final, where he worked hard in the final to finish third – his first podium for 2018.

Kyle settled for a fourth in 15/16 cruisers and Alan took another win in 45/49 before following it up with victory to take the veterans’ crown – the 42nd British title of his career.

The next stop for the Hill family is Gosport for rounds nine and ten.
