King's Lynn Town boss in talks with more transfer targets

Simon Clark says he is continuing to scour the transfer market for more new players ahead of next season.

The King's Lynn Town boss is courting two attacking midfielders and two centre-halves as he looks to complete his squad for the Southern League Central Division.

Clark, who has already completed the signings of defender Kalern Thomas and striker Harry Limb in the past week, said: "I'm confident of bringing some more new faces in by the end of next week.

"I'm talking to a couple of dynamic, creative midfielders and two defenders who will help bring us more leadership at the back.

"Both midfielders have bundles of energy, are a real goalscoring threat and are very effective in possession."

On his two defensive targets, Clark said: "They are both leaders who understand the momentum of the game and who will help dominate the group from behind.

"One of them was always a possibility as I have worked with him before. The other is relatively local. He has played higher than Step Three for most of his career and is a good age."

Clark is keen to finalise deals for more new recruits before Lynn's first pre-season friendly at Fakenham on Wednesday, July 4.

Lynn's boss also remains keen to retain the services of midfielder Cameron King when he returns from holiday this week.

Talks with the former Norwich City player have been continuing for the past month and Clark said: "He's away at the minute but Cameron King is an outstanding footballer.

"He needs a base, he needs a home and be in a team who plays the right way.

"It will be an on-going discussion once he gets home."
