Downham Town bring in four new players
West Norfolk's senior footballing sides have been continuing their preparations for the forthcoming season which begins this weekend.
Swaffham, King's Lynn Town Reserves, Fakenham Town and Downham Town will all ply their trade in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North, which has now been reduced to 19 teams following the announcement that Team Bury have now folded.
Downham Town have been busy in the transfer market over the weekend, bringing four new faces to the Memorial Field.
Arriving at the club, who begin their league fixtures at Felixstowe and Walton United Reserves on Saturday, are Jack Brand, Ben Fenn, Issac Bloodworth and Tom Armit.
Meanwhile, in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase, Downham Town will travel to Premier Division outfit Newmarket Town on September 1.
King's Lynn Town Reserves, who begin their season on the road at March Town next Tuesday, suffered a 3-1 reverse against their counterparts from Ely City on Saturday.
Alex Clunan was on target for Lynn's second string and after the game Adam Seal, who hopes to be in a position to announce some new players later in the week, said: "We did the simple things wrong but we're very much a side in transition at the moment."
Swaffham Town complete their close season fixtures with a trip to Walsham-le-Willows tonight.
The Pedlars, who travel to Harleston Town on the opening day of the campaign, defeated Yarmouth Town in their last friendly, where striker Alex Vincent was on target during a 1-0 success against the Bloaters.
Fakenham Town, who have managed to keep the majority of last season's squad together at Clipbush Park, have signed Danny Hogston and Ryan Curtis ahead of the new season.
