King’s Lynn parkrun attracts a healthy 410 runners for its latest instalment

The warmer weather saw 410 runners take to the pavements for the parkrun latest instalment in The Walks with the park looking bright with the daffodils in flower.

It was good to see a bumper 16 first time parkrunners with us together with 27 first-time visitors one of whom was first to finish today.

Well done to Steven Cannell, a first-time visitor from Blickling, who clocked 17:40 and once again a big well done to regular young female runner JW 11-14 Liberty Sibthorp who came in at 19:53.

Well done also to the 52 participants who achieved personal bests, and to this week’s age-graded hero was Neil Stapleton, who finished with not only a PB time but a great age grading of 83.86%.

Congratulations to Mark Smith, Gregory Brown, Shona Matthews and Karen Grannum on their 50th parkrun, Lewis Saunders, Jurgita Jovaisiene, Danny Calmels, Tracee Findlater and Sara Clynch on their 100th, Nigel Dickens on his 200th, Andy Hardy on his 250th.

A big thank you to the 31 volunteers who did a great job and a special mention this week to run directors Jon Plumb, Fabia Pollard, Judith Berry, Wendy Fisher and Hannah Fisher, who runners will regularly see out in front giving the briefings.

King’s Lynn parkrun which is a free timed 5k run (or walk) takes place in The Walks every Saturday at 9am and is open to all regardless of age or ability.

With the time quickly approaching when King’s Lynn will be once again hosting the GEAR 10k, an appeal has been launched for volunteers to assist at the event, in which many of the runners from parkrun will be taking part.
