Heacham make it back-to-back wins in Thurlow Nunn First Division North

There was another hat-trick hero as Heacham came from behind against Haverhill Borough to make it back-to-back wins in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North.

John Flanagan helped himself to three goals, on the back of Nathan Davies' treble against Yarmouth Town last Saturday, as the Magpies triumphed 5-1 on the road.

Young frontman Fletcher Toll and defender Royce Rawlings were also on target as Heacham warmed up for Tuesday night's derby clash at Swaffham Town in fine style.

After taking five points from their opening three games of the season, Swaffham Town suffered their first defeat of the season with a 2-0 reverse at Huntingdon Town.

The deadlock was broken in the 33rd minute after an unchallenged header at the back post from a corner on the left.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, a needless free-kick led to the hosts scoring a carbon-copy goal to the first.

Brad Page came closest to finding the back of the net for the Pedlars, but was thwarted by the Huntingdon Town goalkeeper.

Elsewhere, Downham Town were left to rue a number of missed chances as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at league leaders Framlingham Town.

The Castlemen have won their opening four games of the new season, but the final scoreline didn't tell the full story of the match.

Jack Rawson and Joe Jackson were on target for the Memorial Field outfit who missed a hatful of opportunities to bring home all three points.

After the game, the club Tweeted: "A game that could and should have seen us comfortably take all three points.

"Disappointing but plenty of very encouraging signs. Just need to start putting the ball in the back of the net. Superb strike for the opening goal."
