“I was gripped by speedway from a very young age, I loved it,” he said. “It’s a great sport where you can see all the action in every race all the time.

“With the school holidays I guess people are looking for things to do with the kids and this is a perfect chance to spend a great night out as a family.

“I’m sure there will be plenty of travelling fans coming along from Ipswich and we are keen to put one over them. It should be a great night.”

Tonight’s meeting sees a family ticket available for £36 to include two adults and unlimited Under 16s. Admission is available at the gate.

There is also free parking now at the stadium, plus there will be a rider signing session.

Seating is available, plus bars and catering facilities and a souvenir shop.
