West Acre's Welham retains title
West Acre's Phillip Welham retained the Norfolk Billiards Championship when defeating a fellow club colleague in the one-hour final.
Welham defeated English international Nathan Mann in the semi-final, to earn the right to play Dean Bavister in the showpiece event.
The final proved a high-quality meeting, with Welham recording breaks of 112 and 105 to clinch the victory 412 (112 and 105) - 134 (44) over Bavister, who himself had played well to reach his first County Championship final.
It was Welham's 15th victory in this event since his first win back in 1988.
This year's event was kindly hosted by the Broadland Snooker Centre, Hellesdon, Norwich and was the 47th holding of the Championship.
Narbeck Billiards Championship
Rochy Woods, 19, won the 'Narbeck Open Championship after defeating Calvin Daws (Pudding Norton) in a high-quality final, which was kindly hosted by the Three Counties Cue-sports Academy in Lynn.
Earlier, Daws had recorded a 56 break, the days' highest when defeating Harry Grommitt (Wiggenhall) in the last four, while Woods defeated Benn Elliott (Swaffham) in her semi-final.
The championship was open to all current and ex-players of the Narbeck Boys Billiards League and annually acts as a fundraiser for the league.
This year's event generated £70 towards league funds.
