King's Lynn Town signal intent as players agree terms

King's Lynn Town have signalled a real statement of their intent by agreeing terms with both Michael Gash and Frazer Blake-Tracy for next season.

Striker Gash found the back of the net 14 times for the Linnets last season and proved a real handful for opposing defenders while defender Blake-Tracy was one of the club's most consistent performers at left-back.

Both players were unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday night and delighted Linnets boss Simon Clark said: "It is really good news for the football, the players and also the fans.

"They are both players who perform and are very consistent on the pitch. When I first came here I spoke to the players individually and asked them for their opinions on others.

"Everyone spoke about Gashy being a pivotal figure for success at this football club. You need someone you can hit and also somebody who can score you goals and he can do both.

"He had offers from other clubs, but his heart, energy and motivation is at King's Lynn and I'm delighted to get him over the line.

"Frazer is a young man who is super-dependable. He's a really good decision maker and I was so impressed with him in the two play-off fixtures where he was playing out of position against quality footballing sides

"He's a strong kid who wants to be coached and developed. He wants to improve even more and that's a massive upside with him."

Peterborough-based forward Gash, who attracted the interests of a number of other clubs, said it wasn't a difficult decision for him to return to The Walks.

"It's always good to know that you are wanted, especially by a new manager. It was always in my mind about staying as I absolutely loved it here last season.

"It's a great non-league club. You only have to look at the two-play off games and the number of fans who came through the gates to see the real potential of the club.

"Everyone is working hard behind the scenes, players are staying from last season and, with the manager set to bring a few new faces in, you can only see good things happening."

Blake-Tracy, who arrived from Lowestoft last summer, filled the big shoes left by former left-sided player Jordan Yong with ease.

The 22-year-old said: "We've got some quality players here like Gashy, Ryan Jarvis and Michael Clunan who shouldn't even be playing at this level.

"It's a good set-up and the best club at this level for sure. I've always had aspirations of playing as high as possible and I would still like to play in the pro game.

"I still think I'm young enough to do it, but I've got business to finish here first and want to help take the club to where it wants to be.

"They say don't chase the wounded animal. We were hurt last season and we are going to come back fighting."
