Lynn Cycling Club's Kay continues good form

Lynn Cycling Club’s Kay Burgess continued her good time trial form at the Diss and District 25 at Bressingham on the B25/17 course.

Burgess was second lady home in a blistering time of 1.04.44.

After the race, Burgess said: “The B25/17 is a sporting course and a qualifier for the SpoCo East competition points.

“The morning started out with some rain but luckily held off once the event started.

“The undulating out-and-back course is quite deceiving, which meant having to pace myself, but overall I was happy with my result today.”

Last week’s Tottenhill 10-mile time trial attracted a huge field of 27 riders from different clubs.

The wind out was very strong so affected all riders’ times.

The competition continues between Simon Hardy and Trevor Marshall and, despite Hardy riding 242 miles only four days earlier in a 12-hour TT, he still showed terrific resilience.

Nikki Brown has dominated the woman’s competition and her time has improved during the season.

There are only two more club time trial events this season.

Results: James Senter 22.48, Ivan Carr 22.49, Jamie Standen 24.47, Simon Hardy 24.58, Trevor Marshall 25.42, Nick Brown 25.51, Chris Levy 26.49, James Sutton 28.04, Ian Reeve 28.34, Tye Rugg (junior) 28.50, Peter Barber 32.46, Heather Rugg 33.23, Ellie Marshall ( junior) 33.44, Ming Lo 36.08, Tony Pym Humber 36.59, Freddy Lo (go ride) 37.08.

All of the club’s events are open to all abilities and the club will be holding a charity fun day time trial in September which is open for anyone to ride.
