Lynn rider Thomas targets silverware

King's Lynn's Danish rider Thomas Jorgensen is targeting league and cup speedway glory as he has got to grips with English tracks.

The Stars tonight host the second leg of their Premiership Knockout Cup semi-final after they finished 48-42 down at the Robins last Monday in the first away leg.

The Tru Plant Stars will also travel on Monday, September 24 to Belle Vue for the opening leg of their play-off semi-final, with the return a week later.

Jorgensen said: "We can't think about silverware yet although it will always be at the back of our heads.

"There are going to be a few more meetings if we want to go all the way."

Jorgensen says Lynn need the continued backing of the Adrian Flux Arena fans inspire them to trophy success: "The atmosphere is great; it's another world. You definitely need them behind us," he added

Whatever happens it will be a terrific climax to the campaign and the Dane reflected upon a year when Lynn finished on top of the senior UK speedway league for the first time: "We managed to keep it together," the 26-year-old added.

"Obviously we've now got Erik Riss who has been doing a magnificent job for us. We won a few meetings away and took some good points."

The in-form 26-year-old also said he is pleased with his progress in 2018: "Yes, definitely.

"I'm pleased with how it's going at the moment.

"I've just found something that's working. I'm still struggling a bit with slick tracks. They have never been my favourite.

"It's the same for everybody. You need to find something that works. When you put a bit of dirt on the track, it's much easier to set the bike up for that.

"But King's Lynn is always really, really grippy, so that's no problem."
