Lynn youngsters open their season
Lynn’s under-13 rink hockey team opened their season in the Eastern Countries league with a home tournament at Alive Lynnsport.
Against Peterborough, under-13s captain Alfie Poppy got on the scoreboard after ten minutes of play before Peterborough equalised two minutes later.
In the second half, Jake Smith and Kevin Monk worked well together in defence to hold off some strong attacks from Peterborough.
With only a minute left on the clock, the away team netted twice in quick succession to wrap up a 3-1 victory.
Lynn also lost their next two games 1-10 and 1-6 against ECU and Cottenham respectively. Alfie Poppy registered both home goals with passes coming from Alex Holford and Issac Kirk.
In the last match of the day, goalkeeper Lacey Vincent was kept busy despite Alfie Poppy registering five goals in a 5-7 defeat against Letchworth.
