King’s Lynn fighter loses split decision to Leicester opponent

King's Lynn Youth Boxing had up-and-coming prospect Madi Whirley in the ring recently.

Whirley found herself up against Olivia Rzpecka from the heart of Leicester.

Rzpecka came out in the first round and forced Whirley back to the ropes by laying on her and it made it hard for her to score with her long reach.

The second round was different as Whirley found her range, landing with clean shots with either hand, which her coaching team of Richard Girdlestone and Mel Payne were delighted with.

Whirley scored well again in the third round, up against her opponent's spoiling tactics.

It went to a split decision, which surprisingly went the way of the Leicester fighter.
