Lynn's Lambert named as first substitute for speedway Grand Prix

British speedway champion Robert Lambert could get the chance to mix it with the sport’s biggest stars next year.

The Lynn Stars skipper has been named as the first substitute – putting him first in line for a call-up if any of the 15 Speedway Grand Prix regulars are sidelined due to injury, illness or other riders.

Lambert has enjoyed an outstanding 2018 season, winning Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations silver with his country as well as the British senior and junior titles – making him the first rider to lift both in the same year.

He also finished third in the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship and the Speedway European Championship.

Tonight, he lines up in the SGB Premiership Grand Final for King’s Lynn and the youngster has enjoyed a stellar season in Poland.

He inspired Lublin to the Polish First Division title and PGE Ekstraliga promotion, as well as helping Rospiggarna reach the Swedish Elitserien semi-finals.
