Nicole reaches national semi-final

Teenage bowls ace Nicole Moseley suffered semi-final heartache at the 2018 Sutton Winson Trophy at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

Moseley lost to eventual winner Courtney Harvey, from Buckinghamshire, in the last four of the national competition on a tie-break after an extremely tight battle.

The Lynnsport Indoor Bowls Club member was in fine form on her way to the latter stages of the competition, knocking out Max Mackinnon, Connor Joyce and Harvey Griffiths in Warwickshire.

Launched in 2014, the Sutton Winson tournament is a development initiative that offers youngsters the opportunity to gain experience by competing on the Championship greens at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, during the Bowls England National Championships.

Bowls England chief executive Tony Allcock MBE said: “The Sutton Winson tournament has grown from strength to strength since its inaugural event in 2014 and is now one of the key dates on our Youth Development calendar.”

Bowls England thank Sutton Winson Insurance and Risk Managers, for their continued support of the event.

The Bowls England National Championships run until Sunday, September 2.

On Tuesday, Moseley, who has been put forward for the Under-18 Academy, will travel to Skegness to compete in the Under-25 two-wood singles.
