Midfielder King returns to King's Lynn Town
King's Lynn Town have this afternoon announced the return of midfielder Cameron King to the Walks.
The 24-year-old was a big hit with the Linnets during the 2017-18 season, scoring a memorable goal in their play-off semi-final win over Weymouth.
And the former Norwich City player has returned to West Norfolk after leaving FC Halifax Town – the club he departed Lynn for – last month.
Speaking during a press conference at the Walks this afternoon, King said: "It's great to be back and I can't wait to get going."
Linnets' director of football Robbie Back added: "Cameron is a class act and one who we have been chasing for a while.
"When it became clear that he was available we pulled out all of the stops so we could get the deal done and bring him into the football club. He has gained a lot of experience at this level of football and that will be invaluable to the team for next season.
"He is a very creative player who has an eye for a pass and enjoys being a pivotal player in a game. His arrival also creates even more competition for places in the manager’s starting line up which can only be good for everyone.
"I also must mention the chairman (Stephen Cleeve) who has backed both Ian and myself in getting the deal done to bring Cameron into the football club. He has supported us from day one on the deal for which we are very grateful."
King, a former Scotland Under-21 international, could make his return to Lynn colours in tomorrow night's friendly away at AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
Linnets fans are welcome to attend the match, after they were asked to stay away from Lynn's 1-0 loss at Stowmarket Town at the weekend, though capacity is limited to 300 spectators.
