Middleton Hall Golf Club hosts annual drive-in for club captains

Players from Middleton Hall Golf Club braved sub-zero temperatures to greet the golf club's new captains for 2025.

This year, 18 teams of four players braved the cold snap the conditions played havoc with the scoring.

A 3-2-1 waltz format was played, and the winning team amassed a decent score of 81 points with second place a point behind with 80 while the third-placed team accumulated 79 points.

This was followed by the new captain's drive from the 18th green area down the 18th fairway.

This distance was measured and a yardage card was sold and then shared between the three charities.

The captain's charities this year are Prostate Cancer, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Care and Kawasaki Disease, which mainly affects children under the age of five years old.

A magnificent sum of £530 was raised on the day and a big thank you to everyone who participated in this annual event.

Also thank you to the club staff who served up some tasty curries and lasagne meals for participants on the day.
