Ollie makes his presence felt at Donnington Park

Ollie Ridout took to the fast-sweeping circuit of Donnington Park for the British Superkart Grand Prix on the crest of a wave after the birth of his daughter a month earlier.

The West Norfolk driver qualified 22nd out of 31 drivers in the F125 open class after finding a three-second improvement on the new rubber.

An awesome start in his opening race saw Ridout gain four places before a snapped camber bar saw him finish back down the order in 21st.

Ridout's second outing saw him get tangled up in an incident AND he was restricted to a lowly finishing position where he was pipped to the line by good friend Ben Warsap.

The Grand Prix race saw the West Norfolk ace produce some exciting moves to climb through the pack before another exciting battle with Warsap.

This time it was Ridout who triumphed after he pounced on a mistake by his fellow driver, who spun out, to finish 20th out of 31 drivers.

Ridout, who thanks Dr Jason T Langley and Tamara Beeken, of Moonshadow Alpacas, for their sponsorship, returns to action at Snetterton on Sunday.
