West Norfolk petanque players take part in doubles competition on presentation day at Heacham
West Norfolk Petanque League celebrated the end of the winter 2024-25 season with a presentation day and a doubles’ plate completion.
The event was hosted at Heacham Sports and Social Club on Sunday, March 23.
Trophies were awarded to winners and runners-up in each of the league's two divisions, and eighteen pairs also competed on the day for the Winter Doubles Plate.
Narborough team “Stingrays” retained their winners trophy at the head of Division One in the winter series while Deadly Knightshades from King’s Lynn were runners-up.
Winter Knights, also from KIng’s Lynn, ensured promotion by winning Division Two, and runners-up were Downham-based team Twinners.
Competition was close in the doubles plate played on the day with a 5-0 victory to a pair teaming up from Felixstowe and KIng’s Lynn.
Second place was determined on points difference between two Lynn pairs
Entries are now being accepted for the League’s summer season, which should commence in late May.
