Success for Renegade Runner member Matt Pyatt
Renegade Runner Matt Pyatt had good reason to celebrate at The Sportslink Norfolk RoadRunning Grand Prix awards in Norwich after winning his M40 age group in this series.
Runners had to compete in eight out of 11 Norfolk road races over the year to qualify.
He ran in the Freethorpe 10-mile race, the Valentine 10k, the Wymondham 20-mile race, Dereham 10-mile race, Humpty Dumpty 10k, East Harling 10k, Worstead five-mile race and Dereham 5k.
You have to be a good all-rounder to compete so Pyatt was understandably delighted to triumph in a tough age group for the second successive year.
Pyatt is pictured with his wife Lisa who also performed well in the series just missing out on a top-three finish in the series in another tough F40 age category.
Ryston Runners’ Jane Ashby was also honoured at the presentations.
Ashby collected her award, and gold county medal, in recognition of her status as fastest W65+ Marathon runner of the year.
n In Peterborough, four Renegade Runners members ran a multi terrain 10-mile race at Nene Park where there were 342 finishers.
First home for the Renegades was Emily Churchyard-Davie in 1.28.02 closely followed by Dan Moore in 1.28.08, next home was Shaun Davies in 1:32:01 for 198th place.
Martin Elsegood came home with a PB to finish in 312th place in a time of 1.51.43.
