Reffley flying the flag for West Norfolk with county cup progress




The weekend saw three Division One teams take a place in the Norfolk County FA Junior second round, with Reffley doing West Norfolk proud by reaching the next round.

They made the long trip to Blofield Reserves and returned to King’s Lynn with a 4-2 victory.

A hat-trick from Eddie McGahren and one from Charlie Edgeley set up another away draw to Prostar Windows FC.

Ingoldisthorpe went for a trip round the coast to Wells Reserves of the Anglian Combination.

They pushed the higher division side all the way but narrowly lost 2-1.

Dylan Ess scored the consolation goal for Thorpe.

Marshland Saints also travelled to higher division opposition as they were hosted by Gayton United.

Saints found the net twice through Callum Rodgers, but this was not enough to see them through as Gayton ran out 3-2 winners.

In league action, Dersingham Reserves still sit top of Division One on goal difference and Saturday saw them run out 6-1 winners at Clenchwarton.

Ben Harris scored a brace to add to goals from Harry Sands, Sam Peck and Jack Bolderstone.

Docking sit in third position but have three games in hand on the league leaders, whilst sitting just three points behind them.

They continued their positive start to the season with a 3-0 victory over bottom side Castle Rising. Preston Sharpe hit a double whilst Tom Hawkins also found the net.

In Division Two, Watlington Development picked up their first point of the season as they drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Clenchwarton Reserves.

Goalscorers in the game included Robbie Reeve, Lewis Henderson, James Duncalf and Pedro Castro.

There was a seven-goal thriller between Reffley Reserves and Gayton Old Boys, with the latter securing a 4-3 victory.

Scorers for Reffley included Andrew Wood and Dan Kerry whilst Joe Butt, Patrick Barrett and Chris Smith hit the target for Gayton.

AFC Lynn Napier Reserves have had a mixed season to date but dispatched Docking Reserves 6-2.

Max Goodrum hit a hat-trick for AFC to add to goals from Danny Jezeph, Kris Smith and Louie Younge.

AFC did finish the game with 10 men after Daniel Haynes received a red card from referee Kenny Wingfield.

Dersingham A had another week of defensive errors and allowed Ingoldisthorpe Reserves to score three goals.

Their scorers were Kai Mayes, Tom Hosty and Ryan Young.

Dersingham’s scorer was Scott Deadman and they named the hard-working Alex Collison as their Man-of-the-Match.
