Ryston's Liam sets two new personal bests
Junior and senior members from Ryston Runners recorded a number of personal bests and wins in East Anglian League action at Yarmouth on Sunday.
Under-15 boy Liam Clare set the ball rolling with two PBs; 13.7 in the 100m and 20.81m in the javelin before leaping to 4.17m in the long jump.
Joining him in the javelin was Jay Liczbinski who finished fourth with 21.48m.
Liczbinski's best performance came in the hurdles where he finished strongly in a close race to win with 13.7 secs.
Kieran Bell joined Clare in setting a new 100m PB, running 13.8, as well as clearing 4.25m in the long jump.
There were multiple wins for Ryston athletes.
Gareth Hunt won the senior men's triple jump and high jump with season's best performances of 12.04m and 1.75m.
Lucy Oakley (under-13 girls) won both the shot and javelin with 9.22m and 20.01m, she was just off her 200m PB with 31.2 secs.
David MacQueen (under-13 boys) won the long jump with 4.70m and achieved two second-place finishes in both the 100m (13.3) and 200m (27.7).
The under-11s enjoyed a cracking day.
Clarice Cavill won her 80m race with a time of 12.7, which was the third fastest out of the 18 girls who took part.
Marcus Wood and Beau Loram took the under-11 boys first and second places in the shot with 4.47m and 4.41m respectively.
Theo Loram sprinted well in the 80m (13.7) and Ryan Wood (under-13 boys) ran a new hurdles PB of 14.9 to finish second.
Wood also finished second in the B-string long jump.
Matilda Loram (under-13 girls) ran new 100m and 200m PBs of 15.7 and 33.5 secs.
Under-15 girl Mia Moore, jumping into a headwind, leapt out to a new long jump PB of 4.05m.
Moore also ran an impressive 200m and 300m double to finish fourth and second with times of 28.9 and 45.2 secs.
Joining her in running well in 200m and 300m was Jess Boxall (under-17 girls) who was third and second in her races, with 28.9 and 44.8 secs, her 300 time - just 0.1 off her personal best.
Bea Honeybone (under-15 girls) finished third in the javelin with 22.04 metres.
Robert MacQueen (under-17 men) had two third-place finishes in the 100m and 200m with 12.0 and 24.5 secs.
Riley Bell (under-13 boys) was just short of his 800m and long jump PBs with 2.55 and 3.47m.
Steven Quercia-Smale (senior men) ran the 800m and 400m in 2.12.3 and 59.8 secs respectively and Mai Loram (under-17 women) ran 5.45.9 in the 1500m and long-jumped 3.96m.
