Stars back in home action on Monday
The King’s Lynn Stars on Monday will have to prove they’re not camera-shy in front of the BT Sport lenses at home to Premiership leaders Somerset.
They have put themselves in a prime position to challenge for a top four end of season play-off place by notching a second home win in three days against the Swindon Robins by eight points.
Lynn have injury concerns over newly-arrived reserve Jason Garrity who withdrew from the Swindon victory with a possible fractured thumb after completing two rides.
Lynn on Wednesday night had already booked Kyle Newman, latterly of Leicester, for both the Somerset televised clash and next Wednesday’s trip to Newman’s former club Poole Pirates.
Team boss Dale Allitt said: “It looks like a fracture at least. We’ve already booked Kyle Newman for Monday here and Wednesday at Poole.
“Simon (Lambert, two wins and seven points) has done well in only his second meeting back here.”
“We know Swindon are tough opposition, especially as it’s a very similar side to the one that won them the Premiership last season with five of the same riders.
“It’s going to be an exciting run-in as we head towards the final couple of months of the season.”
In-form maximum man Robert Lambert said: “I’ve just got this engine to try and it seems to be going well.”
Lynn ensured Somerset go into Monday night’s televised meeting leading the Premiership table by beating Swindon. It is unclear whether reigning world champion Jason Doyle will take his place in the Rebels’ team after crashing in last Saturday’s British GP at Cardiff.
